Writing our next chapter together...
The first chapters of St. Luke’s School were written in 1945, beginning as a haven for young families moving to the West Village. Decades later, our story responded to the changing City, blossoming into a tale with a thriving, vibrant community at its heart. Throughout it all, we have kept true to our mission – to serve children. Today, we are not simply reading our history; we are authoring our future. We embark on the next chapters of our story with the strength of our community at our back, ensuring that every student has the curiosity, confidence, and courage to learn with joy and lead with heart.

A Strategic Plan...
What?
A strategic plan is a written document that outlines long-term goals, the strategies the school will use to achieve them, and the actions needed to execute those strategies, essentially serving as a roadmap for the school's future direction over a defined period, usually several years. It includes elements like vision, mission, core values, objectives, and specific action plans to measure success.
Why?
Schools strategically plan to provide a clear direction for the institution, aligning everyone involved around a shared vision, mission, and goals, enabling them to make informed decisions, effectively allocate resources, and ultimately improve student outcomes by proactively addressing challenges and seizing opportunities within their educational landscape.
How?
Our strategic planning process was designed to be fully inclusive. We used primary source documents that included past strategic plans, self studies, accreditation reports, surveys, and focus groups. Our Strategic Planning Committee consists of parents, trustees, and professional staff who have been working since August of 2024 to research and understand the needs of our school. They will continue to provide thought partnership throughout the life of the plan.
